It’s unlikely Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder will be on hand when guitarist Robby Krieger will have some impressive talent on hand for his performance tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 16, at downtown’s all-ages Anthology. But former San Diegan Vedder was on hand to sing the late Jim Morrison’s parts when The Doors’ three surviving members — Krieger, keyboadrist Ray Manzarek and drummer John Densmore — were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.

Krieger’s current band, Jazz Kitchen, is an all-instrumental ensemble. It features former Chick Corea and Wayne Shorter drummer Tom Brechtlein, ex-War saxophonist Larry Kilmas and two Frank Zappa band veterans, bassist Arthur Barrow and keyboardist Tommy Mars.

It remains to be determined if this 2-year-old group will play any songs Krieger wrote or co-wrote during his tenure with The Doors, such as “Light My Fire” and “Love Her Madly.” Chances are good, though, that he’ll include songs from his 2010 album, “Singularity,” and its 2000 predecessor, “Cinematix.”

The latter features two finger-twisting classics that former San Diego guitar icon Allan Holdsworth co-wrote and recorded during his mid-1970s tenure with the explosive New Tony Williams Lifetime. That Krieger tackles these songs, and does well with them, speaks highly for him. With any luck, he’ll play them here tonight.

![""]("https://anthologysd.com/press/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/705573.jpeg" ""705573"")
